This Mantis Fuchi Kashira is a typical representation of old Mino style sword fittings. The beetles and flowers cover the whole item and form a high relief against the background. The colour of the Shakudo is slightly brownish which also speaks for the age of this Fuchi Kashira. We can see that the design elements were decorated by applying a thin layer of gold in the so called ‘Keshikomi Zogan’ technique. As the gold layer applied such way was only thin, we can see that the gold has already worn off over the ages.
Comes with a custom box.
