Importing swords into Japan
When you send your blade to us with EMS, we will receive the blade and handle the registration. Each Japanese sword needs its own license after arriving in Japan. The import process takes about 2 to 4 months depending on the schedule of the respective licensing authority.
Exporting Swords from Japan
To export a registered blade from Japan, we will request the export license and perform the necessary customs declarations. Receiving the license takes around 3 to 4 weeks.
Shipping
After the export license is ready, we will ship your blade via EMS to you. You have to make sure that receiving swords is allowed in your country. Shipping from Japan to the US takes around 1 to 2 weeks.
Packaging
When you ship blades via tsuba.info we will use the packaging which the sword arrives in. In case you need additional packaging we will charge a packaging fee accordingly.
Personal courier service
We can transport your blade between Europe and Japan in check-in luggage personally if you prefer this. Please contact us for more details on this service.
