A Higo Tsuba made by Shimizu Jingo with Hotei ya Daikoku no zu (symbols of Hotei and Daikoku).

The Moko shaped plate shows soft tsuchime and a wonderful colour of dark chocolate brown. The symbols of Hotei, the god of luck and wealth, a rainhat at top and hotei’s big sack are given on the front done in sentoku suemon zogan. The cords of the hat aremade using nawame zogan (a type of rope like inlay. The ryo hitsu on front and back are partly framed with sentoku hon zogan. On the backside Daikoku’s big hammer is shown in sunken relief and silver nunome zogan. The rope through the short grip of the hammer again is made with nawame zogan. Though somewhat small the tsuba is beautiful and gives an atmoshere of strong elegancy.

The tsuba comes with a custom made kiri box.

Iron with sentoku suemon zogan, hon zogan and nawame zogan.
